About
Rheanna Atendido (she/her) is a singer-songwriter, actor, and playwright based out of New York and Seattle. She is a first-generation Filipino-American who writes about grief and love. Usually at the same time. Her acoustic-pop sound is heavily influenced by the OPM’s, Disney artists, and early YouTube musicians she grew up on. As a self-taught instrumentalist, she began songwriting in middle school and never looked back.
She received the Mary Gates Endowment Scholarship in 2017 for the development of her debut musical, BREAKUP BENCH. Since then she has composed for a number of companies including The 5th Avenue (Sonya’s Chickens), Book-It Repertory (Inside Out and Back Again), ArtsWest (Ballad of Annabel Lee; Mary and Vic Get an Electric Kick), Village Theatre (Come Over and Play), The Horse in Motion (The Great Noise), and WET (2021 & 2022 galas). She is currently working on a new Fil-Am musical, PABITIN, as part of The 5th Avenue Theatre & Village Theatre’s Northwest by Northwest new works co-commission.
